His recent books include The Cinema of Alex de la Iglesia (2007) and Benjamin’s Arcades: an unguided tour (2006).  Polaroid: The Camera does the Rest is due out soon with Chicago University Press.  He is also the author of Drama + Theory (2001) and editor of Ghosts: Deconstruction, Psychoanalysis, History (1999).  His research interests include visual culture, photographic technologies, comedy and comic theory and Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis.
