Matthew Pateman is Professor of Popular Aesthetics and the Head of School of Performance and Screen Studies at Kingston University. 
Professor Matthew Pateman' avatar Matthew Pateman is Professor of Popular Aesthetics and Head of School of Performance and Screen Studies at Kingston University. Recent publications include The Aesthetics of Culture in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Jefferson, North Carolina and London: McFarland, 2006) and Aesthetics - a Special Issue of Slayage: The Online International Journal of Buffy Studies (Issue 22, Vol. 6.2, December 2006). Writing across the domains of popular culture, aesthetics, critical and cultural theory, television and literature, he is currently working on Joss Whedon, a monograph for Manchester University Press, and articles on Jean-Francois Lyotard, television pilot episodes, and finales.
